Amoda Tea Subscription Box- October 2018
For me, fall is all about sitting with a warm cup of spiced tea and enjoying a lovely book. And so I am really excited with all the tea Amoda has sent me in their October Box.

Amoda Tea subscription box is a monthly tea subscription where they send you 4 new flavors of tea every month. These different kinds of tea are specially sourced from various companies who blend them in small batches. The main idea of Amoda is to allow tea lovers like us discover new blends more easily. So basically they do the tea hunting on our behalf bringing us the best blends of the season. And if you love a certain tea, you can buy more of it on their website.
The cost of the box is $20 USD per month and there is no additional shipping cost to US and Canada.
So what does the box contain?
Each box comes with 4 different kinds of tea and 10 tea bags along with a cute tea related postcard every month. They also add an information leaflet detailing about all the tea included in the box. Amoda Tea tries to include tea of different caffeine levels, however, if you are a light sleeper you can always select a low caffeine option! Each pouch of tea included will make about 3-5 cups of tea, and therefore each box will produce 12-20 cups of tea in total depending on your usage.
Now, let’s talk about the tea.
Tea One; Halifax Fog
Nothing can be better than a classic cup of Earl Grey with a twist of Bergamot and hints of sweet licorice roots. The tea has a subtle sweet taste which I really loved. Make sure you read the steeping rules in order to get the best taste.
The tea is made up of all organic ingredients including Earl Grey Black, Assam, Ceylon, and Licorice Root.
Tea two: Pumpkin Spice Matcha
Fall is all about spiced tea. Its the time where I want a warm cup of spiced milk latte during a cold chilly morning and this Pumpkin Spice Matcha is perfect for those cold days. It has a quite good taste of the spice but you can enhance the taste further by adding some sweetness to it. The matcha is high in caffeine and therefore it is also a perfect companion during the days you need a little kick in the morning to feel all awake and fresh. The mix also has Chaga Mushroom in it which I could not sense but probably creates the smoothness in the tea.
Organic Ingredients: Pumpkin powder, Matcha, Micronized Chaga, Lucuma Powder, House Blend Pumpkin Spice Powder (Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Cloves and All Spice.
Tea Three: Kaapstad
Oh, I love this tea! The sweet spiced taste is just so energizing. The scent of the tea is syrupy and nutty and has a really good balance in taste. It is also caffeine free and therefore perfect for evening cups that you need to revive yourself to finish of your day perfectly! However, you have to be careful if you are allergic to nuts because it contains almond bits.
Ingredients: Vanilla Rooibos with Marigold Petals, Almond Bits, and Ginger.
Tea Four: Spiced Tea
Are you all about apple pie in the fall ? If yes, then this tea might just be your perfect mate. This robust black tea has a strong hint of cinnamon, fall spices and local apples. You will see pieces of cinnamon in tea mix which actually out quite a strong taste of the cinnamon too. This tea actually tastes better when made as a latte.
Ingredients: Local Apples,Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Assam Black Tea, Licorice Root, Orange Peel and Anise.
I am really happy with the October box as it is all about fall and being cozy. 3 of my tea had a high caffeine level which I was quite happy with because it gives a boost to my mornings. My favourite tea from this box is the Halifax fog because I how the twist of the original black tea flavor.
Based on the amount you use, each cup of tea is basically costing you from $1 to $ 1.66. I think this is a great price per cup when you are trying to discover new flavors each month.
