Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare Review

I am extremely happy to review this skincare brand today for my readers, especially my vegan friends. Why? Founded in Portland, Oregon, Mad Hippie is a skincare line whose aim is to leave the most minimal footprint on the environment. Therefore. most of their products are vegan and cruelty-free. And they don't only stop there, from every sale they donate $1 to The Wildlife Conservation Network. They mainly focus on plant extracts while creating most of their products avoiding different harmful chemicals which has a bad effect on your skin in the long run. I received 4 of their products to try and review.

Mad Hippie Hydrating Nutrient Mist ($19.99 for a 118ml bottle)

This mist is made up of 18 active ingredients with Hesperidin and Sodium PCA. Hesperidin is a plant flavonoid that reduces the appearance of skin discoloration thus brightening your skin whereas Sodium PCA helps improve skin hydration. The another highlighted ingredients in the formula are Milk Thistle, Ginkgo Biloba, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin C, Resveratrol, Green Tea, White Pine Bark and Pomegranate Seed Extract. All these ingredients are good for reduction of skin discoloration, redness, and wrinkles.

Direction: Unlike most other spray mists where you spray the mist directly on to your skin, this one is to be sprayed into your palm first. Then you massage the frothy liquid over your cleansed face and neck.

I like the fragrance of the mist. Also, this mist can be used under the sunscreen which I really liked. It can be used as a good substitute for a moisturizer time to time and it makes my skin feel soft and hydrated with use. However, if you have dry skin this might not be a very good idea. I would also like to include that it is 2017 Earth Day Beauty Award Winner!

You can buy this Hydrating Nutrient Mist in WholeFoods or online here from Mad Hippie website. They have super fast shipping for anyone living in US.

Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum ($33.99 for a 30ml bottle)

The Vitamin C serum is made up of 8 active ingredients with Konjac Roots and Ferulic and Hyaluronic acid. Konjac root is an Asian flower that is known to be rich in Vitamin C which makes your skin soft and smooth. Ferulic Acid is extracted from plants and acts as an antioxidant when combined with Vitamin C and E. Other ingredients that are highlights of the formula are Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Grapefruit, Chamomile Extract, Clary Sage which all works together to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration making your skin calm and plump.

Again, I would like to say that I loved the scent of the serum. The serum is quite light and absorbs quite quickly without leaving any greasy feeling. I did not get any breakout or clogged pores yet but I will surely update the blog if anything changes. My skin cleared out to a certain extent and I really like the smooth feeling on my skin after use.

You can find more details and review about the products here.

Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum ( $34.99 for a 30ml bottle)

The Exfoliating Serum is made up of 16 active ingredients with Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Apple Stemcells and Gigawhite. Apple stem cells are said to have powerful antioxidant and skin rejuvenating properties whereas Gigawhite, which is a blend of 6 Alpine plants that reduces the appearance of discoloration. The other main ingredients include Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Matrixyl Synthe '6, Sodium Hyaluronate, White Tea, Goji Berries, and Ceramide. All these ingredients help even the skin tone and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

I like this serum because it makes my skin look fresh and bright. I hope it will help with my blemishes overtimes because I already see some difference. If your skin is quite sensitive, then please use it on a part of your skin only first to see if you get any itchy or tickling sensation.

Mad Hippie Face Cream ($25.99 for a 30ml bottle)

The last product on my list is the Mad Hippie Face Cream. The Cream contains 15 active ingredients with Peptides, Açai, Argan Oil, and Resveratrol. Peptides are one kind of Amino Acid that decreases the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. The other ingredients in the formula are Matrixyl Synthe ‘ 6, Syn-Tacks, Coenzyme Q10, Green Tea, Niacinamide, Aloe vera, Coconut Oil, Argan Oil and Pomegranate which acts as anti-agent and helps hydrate the skin. For people with dry skin, this would be a perfect moisturizer for you. However, people with Combination/Oily skin might want to be careful because this cream contains two different kinds of oil. I would also like to include, even though the moisturizer is oil based, the cream seems quite light and absorbs quite quickly.

I liked the cream, however, I will stop using it if I see signs of breakouts. Love the fragrance of this moisturizer as it has a very gorgeous herbal scent and lingers around quite long.

Final Verdict

I really like the Vitamin C serum the most because it really moisturizes my skin quite well keeping it plump and hydrated and did not need an extra layer of face cream. All in all, I really liked all the products sent to me and would recommend my followers and others lovelies reading this to give it a try if you are thinking of buying a product from Mad Hippie.

However, if you have advanced skin concerns of hyperpigmentation and anti-aging, then it might not be a really suitable line for you. Therefore, please discuss with a dermatologist if you are thinking of using it long-term.
