NEUTROGENA: Keep me Hydrated

For the past few weeks, I have been thinking of buying a sunscreen lotion that will be my buddy this summer. And luckily last week, I received Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost water gel sunscreen with SPF 50 as a PR sample to review.

The Sunscreen lotion costs $15.97 for 88ml and comes in a flat tube. The consistency of the lotion is a little watery and silkier than other sunscreen lotion I previously used. This liquid texture makes it water light and less-greasy.

One thing I struggle while using most sunscreen is the white cast it leaves behind especially around my eyebrows . I also seldom use it under my make up because it gets really oily near the end of the day. But this one surprisingly did not do any of that! The lotion went on smooth and absorbed quickly. My skin was soft and hydrated for around 7 to 8 hours. The lotion contains Hyaluronic acid which helps with collagen synthesis keeping skin supple and moisturized.

The direction asks to apply the lotion every two hours which I could not while having makeup on. It also asks to limit your time in the sun between 10 am to 2 pm which made me think if this is good enough for everyday life. However, if you are working indoor most part during the day, it should not be a big concern to you. Neutrogena claims this gel lotion to be oil-free and non-comedogenic which means it will not clog pores which added one more brownie point because I have sensitive skin.

Now the verdict:

▪️Loved the light, non-greasy consistency of the lotion

▪️Loved how it kept my skin soft and hydrated

▪️The smell is too strong for me

▪️Caused light stinging and burning

Recommendation:

▪️ Please consult a dermatologist or skin care specialist before use if you have cystic acne

▪️Stop using if your skins feel itchy and irritated
